Update: CBSA Anti-Dumping Investigation into Small Power Transformers
/April 30, 2021
The CBSA released their statement of reason today concerning the initiation of investigation into the dumping of certain small power transformers originating in or exported from Austria, Chinese Taipei, and South Korea.
The details can be found in the report, on the CBSA Website but the most interesting part is the findings with regard to the estimated margins of dumping.
Estimated margins of dumping:
“[83] The CBSA estimated the margin of dumping for the named sources by comparing the total estimated normal values with the total weighted average estimated export prices. Based on this analysis, it is estimated that the subject goods imported into Canada from each of the named sources were dumped. The estimated margin of dumping for each source is listed in the table below.”
Composite Power will continue to keep our customers updated. While dumping margins may change between now and the next phase of the investigation, tarriffs could be applied to transformers from the countries listed above as early as July 15th, 2021.
