Product Range

Surge arresters are electrical devices designed to protect power systems and electrical equipment from high-voltage surges, such as those caused by lightning strikes, switching operations, or other transient overvoltages. They work by safely diverting excessive electrical energy to the ground, thereby preventing damage to equipment like transformers, circuit breakers, and other critical infrastructure.

During normal operation, surge arresters remain inactive and allow the system to function without interference. When a high-voltage surge occurs, the arrester activates, offering a low-resistance path for the excess voltage to safely discharge to the ground. Once the surge subsides, the arrester returns to its high-resistance state, isolating itself from the system and resuming normal operation.

Surge arresters prevent damage to critical power system components by controlling transient overvoltages, enhance the reliability and lifespan of the electrical network by minimizing the effects of surges, reduce downtime and repair costs associated with equipment failure caused by surges and protect personnel and infrastructure from hazards caused by electrical surges.
