About the company
SHEMAR is a leading global material science company that has been operating for 27 years. It has gained a reputation as a reliable manufacturer of high-voltage insulators. Initially, SHEMAR focused on addressing oil leakage issues in the transformer industry by producing high-quality gaskets. In 1996, the company recruited experienced professionals and expanded its clientele to include reputable companies such as GE, Hitachi, ABB, and Siemens. During this period, transformer ceramic insulators began to fail, resulting in a global issue. SHEMAR responded by developing composite insulators as a replacement for ceramic insulators, which eliminated the problems associated with substation insulators. Furthermore, the company successfully addressed the quality issues and high costs associated with older composite insulator materials.
SHEMAR continues to focus on innovation through their 40-year, sustainable, long-life composite insulators ranging from 15kV to 1000kV, thereby eliminating potential problems and minimizing the cost of owning and operating the Power Grid. They have revolutionized the industry with their CICA Solutions (Composite Insulated Crossarms and their distribution lines solution called D-CICA Solutions. These products accommodate smaller towers and narrower right of ways, thus making for a more suitable, compact design.
