The Southern States TranSwitcher® is a renewable intertie solution designed specifically for switching and protection of power transformers. Its unique design makes it ideally suited for distribution systems that intertie with solar farms as well as other distributed energy resources. The use of a “soft close” helps to minimize system voltage drops and potential ferro-resonance issues caused by the high inrush currents associated with DER transformer energization. Employing the TranSwitcher® can help utilities increase the life of their transformer as well as maintain system power quality.

Every day across North America linemen are installing, operating and maintaining one way, two way and three way phase over phase transmission line switches. These are used to isolate and segment the system requiring switches that can break loop current and drop lines. These workers are on the front lines of the power grid, many expressing concerns with current transmission switch offerings that are often unreliable, difficult to adjust and install, require excessive maintenance and result in greater outage times for the utilities.

Denny Substation is built in downtown Seattle, not only having to meet expectations of safety and reliability, but noise and visual design as well. This unique substation stands out from the rest with a 44.000 square foot open area, quarter mile walking trail and off-leash pet park, while providing viewing opportunities of the substation and surrounding area.

The DVG-3 voltage transformer is designed for use with watt-hour meters, relays, and in other control applications. The unit consists of 1, 2, or 3 revenue metering accuracy voltage transformers, depending on the application. Primary and secondary connections are made using a wiring harness that connects to the connector provided on the voltage transformer.
